Caps United has been hit with an injury crisis ahead of Saturday’s title decider against reigning Castle Lager Premier League Soccer League champions FC Platinum.
Veteran defender Method Mwanjale suffered a season-ending injury several weeks, with other casualties being Kudzai Nyamupfukudza, Valentine Musarurwa and Lincoln Zvasiya.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the blockbuster encounter set for the National Sports Stadium tomorrow, Makepekepe coach Darlington Dodo said:
Injuries have hit us hard, especially in the defence; they are giving us sleepless nights.
The situation is very bad because the defensive line is becoming more like a hospital ward and it’s sad.
We keep chopping and changing our defence now and again and it’s not healthy for the team. I am hoping one or two guys will come back and it will be solid again.
FC Platinum need at least a draw to win a third title in a row as they are a point ahead of Caps United.
If the Green Machine wins, they will finish the season with 61 points and lift their sixth title in their history.
