English Premier League clubs Arsenal and Manchester City are in talks over the availability of Mikel Arteta over the former club’s managerial vacancy following the departure of Unai Emery.
According to Sky Sports, Arsenal officials were photographed leaving City Arteta’s Manchester home in the early hours of Monday morning with the club expected to appoint a new manager before the end of the month.
The two officials, chief executive Vinai Venkatesham and the club’s lawyer Huss Fahmy were photographed leaving Arteta’s home around 1.20 am.
They held a two-and-a-half-hour meeting with the club’s former midfielder, who is now an assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Arsenal are reported to be considering another former player, Patrick Vieira.
Freddie Ljungberg was made the interim coach a few weeks ago, with the club’s results not showing any sign of improvement.
