Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has reportedly locked her estranged wife Marry Chiwenga nee Mubaiwa out of their Borrowdale Mansion following her arrest on Saturday.
Marry’s lawyer’s Beatrice Mtetwa told the Daily News that men who claimed to be Zimbabwe Anti-corruption Commission (ZACC) detectives pounced on the VP’s wife while she was in her bedroom and naked and took her away. Added Mtetwa:
After that, they came back to the house and Marry’s mother who had accompanied her to the police was not allowed back into the house. She had her car parked at her daughter’s house.
The men went back into the bedroom and packed Marry’s clothes in a suitcase before throwing it to her mother.
They had locksmiths with them who changed the keys to the house while Chiwenga’s lawyer, (Wellington) Pasipanodya — a partner at Manase and Manase Law Firm — was supervising the process.
Mtetwa was left convinced that the chronology of events from Marry’s arrest to her eviction were all pre-arranged.
Marry was arrested on Saturday by ZACC officials and faces various charges ranging from attempted murder to money laundering.
