Chicken Inn coach Joey Antipas said he applied for the Warriors job after being encouraged to do so by close family members and friends.
Antipas, who was in charge of six Warriors matches on an interim basis, revealed that he is currently sorting out a new deal with his Premiership employers after finishing second in the just-ended 2019 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League. He said:
A lot of people have encouraged me to apply for the job and, so, I have applied.
FeedbackShould l get the job, ZIFA will have to talk to my employers. We are sorting out a new deal. โโBut, first things first, we will see what goes on.
The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) advertised the post of full-time Warriors coach last month, with the vacancy open for both local and foreign nationals.
Meanwhile, former Highlanders and Ngezi Platinum Stars coach Erol Akbay (Netherlands), Michael Weiss (Germany), Manuel Marquez (Spain), and Milutin Sredojevic (Serbia), have applied for the job.
