Roberto Firmino scored a late winner as Liverpool beat Monterrey 2-1 in a Club World Cup match to enter into the final.
Liverpool will now play Brazil’s Flamengo on Saturday in the final at 1930hrs local time [1730hrs (GMT)].
The Reds got their first goal from Naby Keita in the 11th before Monterrey equalised three minutes later through Funes Mori.
Liverpool, without centre back Virgil van Dijk, who was missing through illness and with Firmino and Sadio Mane starting on the bench, never truly imposed themselves on the game but their trademark perseverance paid off and earned them a place in Saturday’s final.
