Machete-Wielding Robbers Dragged To Court
Three suspected machete-wielding robbers have taken to court after they allegedly attacked some men in Odzi and robbed them of gold and other valuables worth $42 000.
It is reported that the accused and their accomplices who are still at large pounded on the victims, attacked them and also smashed the car screens of their victims’ car using machetes and Columbian knives.
Reports suggest that one of the accused died after he was shot by one of their victims during the incident.
It is further reported that the accused then took gold and other valuables and fled from the scene when their colleague was shot.
Edmore Sevenzai, Japhet Nhatu and Charles Rutsate were arrested in Kwekwe after one of the victims identified them and tipped off the police.
They appeared before a Mutare court this Friday charged with robbery and were remanded to December 31 for routine remand.
