Former FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza says his success at South African side Chippa United has been built on good communication and defensive organisation.
Chippa United was bottom of the Absa Premiership two weeks ago but the club has climbed up to 10th position on the log. Said Mapeza:
The defensive performance over the last five games has been fantastic.
It’s all about communication. If you communicate‚ it brings cohesion and organisation and if there is a good organisation it means good concentration.
But if there is no communication‚ then definitely there is no organisation.
Communication starts with the goalkeeper‚ it goes to the fullbacks and the centre backs.
If they communicate well‚ those guys‚ and maintain the distance between themselves and between the midfielders‚ we are then solid in terms of our defending.
Chippa has won four of their last five games after being the last of the 16 top-flight teams to register a win this season.
In its final match before the festive season, Chippa won 1-0 over SuperSport United, coached by former Warriors vice-captain Kaitano Tembo.
