Progressive Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) secretary-general Raymond Majongwe has responded to MDC-T vice president Obert Gutu’s call for him to step down.
Writing on microblogging site Twitter, Majongwe told Gutu to join ZANU PF where they will readily welcome him. Said Majongwe:
Obert Gutu, Obert Gutukutu. I have watched you do a harakiri on yourself. You are a lawyer I guess. Spare yourself this embarrassment. Stop fighting people who have nothing to do with you. Takambosangana kupi zviya? Dzikama. Join Zanu they will welcome you. Stay blessed.
Earlier on Monday, Gutu used Twitter to chide Majongwe for “overstaying” at the helm of the teachers’ union.
Gutu admonished Majongwe to practise the democracy that he preaches instead of personalising the PTUZ.
