Marvelous Nakamba’s performance against Leicester City on Wednesday has attracted a mixed bag of reaction with some saying that it was a night to forget with some blaming the rules for the position he plays.
Sportscaster Mike Madoda and Collin Simms were in agreement that the Zimbabwean 25-year-old defensive midfielder was in bad shape when Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Leicester at the King Power Stadium. Madoda tweeted:
Not Marvelous Nakamba’s best outing in a Villa shirt.
Meanwhile, Birmingham Mail which gave him a 7 out of 10 rating believes he was not that bad. The publication said:
Nakamba recovered well from an early error in high presented (Jamie) Vardy with a very good chance.
He put himself about in midfield and fed Villa’s ball players and when he retrieved possession.
Nakamba who played for 86 minutes was rated 6 out of 10 by The Daily Mail which also gave his teammate Trézéguet a similar rating of 6 out of 10.
