Iranians Demonstrate Over The Downing Of Plane That Killed All 176 Passengers And Crew On Board
Iranians have taken to the streets over their army’s downing of a Ukranian plane that killed 176 passengers (mostly Iranian and Iranian-Canadian citizens) and crew on board.
The protesters on Saturday demanded that the country’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, step down.
The Iranian government admitted on Saturday that it shot down the Ukranian plane by mistake.
Prior to that, Iran had vehemently denied causing the crash saying that the plane caught fire and crashed.
Ironically, the crew did not ask for help which should be the procedure when a plane catches fire.
The USA was saying that the Iranian army might have accidentally shot down the plane.
The developments are taking place when tensions between the USA and Iran are mounting.
