The Zimbabwe National Roads Administration (ZINARA) Board chair Michael Madanha said that he is not aware of the letter which revealed that tolling cashiers earn over $6 000 per month.
Speaking to ZBC News on Thursday, Madanha said the $6 000 reported on social media circles could be the gross income of a ZINARA tolling cashier. He said:
I have no knowledge of the letter and where it was generated to speak on it or comment but if you are saying the amount in question is in the district of $6 000 it could be the gross income.
Madanha’s remarks follow the circulation on social media of an offer letter dated January 10 believed to have originated from Zinara written on the institution’s letterhead.
While Madanha confirmed that a general manager with the institution is getting paid around $20 000, ZINARA Acting Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Moses Chigonyati refused to comment on the matter indicating that it was a private matter as the employers and organisation had signed non-disclosure agreements.
