"I'll Not Reveal Our Next Course Of Action," Chamisa Pissed Off As ZRP Search For Machetes At MDC Headquarters
Opposition leader, Nelson Chamisa has expressed his displeasure after Zimbabwe Republic Police raided the party’s headquarters in Harare saying that they were searching for machetes.
Chamisa said that even the colonial governments were not at the terror levels the ruling ZANU PF has reached now. Speaking to the Daily News, Chamisa said:
These are terror tactics. Even the Rhodesians did not go to the extent of raiding Zanu offices during the war. What they (the government) want is to control and capture the opposition … There is no government that behaves like that…
FeedbackZanu PF is shooting itself in the foot. In their eyes we are not MDC, we are a rebellious movement.
We have a big problem on our hands … I will not reveal our next course of action, but we are obviously alarmed by the behaviour of Zanu PF.The search followed allegations by ZANU PF legislator for Gokwe Nembudziya, Justice Mayor Wadyajena that MDC Secretary-General, Chalton Hwende was the one protecting the notorious machete gangs who, for a long period of time now, have been terrorising miners and members of the public.
Pro-MDC analysts have said that the government was merely looking for an excuse to arrest and harass members of the MDC.
