Lesotho Prime Minister Tom Thabane’s wife Maesaiah Thabane is going to be charged with the 2017 murder of the PM’s ex-wife who was gunned down outside Maseru in June 2017 2 days before Thabane’s inauguration, Al Jazeera reports.
Maesaiah who had fled the country last month returned to Lesotho and handed herself to the police which in turn charged her with the murder of her husband’s former wife.
The arrest was confirmed by the Lesotho deputy commissioner of police who said:
She has been charged with murder alongside eight others who are in Lesotho and South Africa.
Lesotho is one of Africa’s poorest countries.
