An opposition leader has accused the Zimbabwean government of having its misplaced priorities.
FreeZim Congress president Joseph Makamba Busha used the new Parliament building currently under construction in Mt Hampden as proof of the government’s ‘insensitivity. He said:
Having a new Parliament building is not a priority in Zimbabwe at the moment. We have a plethora of pressing needs that the insensitive Zanu (PF) government should have taken on board as a matter of urgency.
Busha argued that Zimbabwe has more pressing issues that need urgent attention ahead of the government’s vanity projects.
He said the government should have prioritised drought mitigation and the rehabilitation of roads, schools, homes, clinics and hospitals destroyed by Cyclone Idai in some parts of the country a year ago this coming Sunday.
The politician-cum-businessman made the remarks while addressing journalists in Harare today.
