The Outgoing Egyptian Ambassador to Zimbabwe yesterday during his farewell speech said Zimbabwe has a brighter future, only if reforms are implemented, The Herald reports.
Speaking to journalists after bidding farewell to the President at his offices at Munhumutapa Building, Ambassador Mohamed Fahmy said:
I have to say that my end of mission report back to my Government will definitely emphasise the very promising future for Zimbabwe after the reform process is completed and I am very aware that some investors from the private sector are waiting.
Now you have the new investment authority. I was informed by His Excellency (President Mnangagwa) that we will have some people from finance where they can meet directly with investors coming in different specialised sectors, so all my best wishes for your beautiful country.
The Egyptian Envoy’s remarks come at a time the government is trying to implement much-needed reforms to unlock international support to end Zimbabwe’s 2 decades-long isolation.
