The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana has once again posted on social media giving an update on the status of returnees from the United Kingdom who were refusing to be quarantined at Belvedere College.
Mangwana said that they will sleep at the college adding that law enforcers were there to make sure that law was adhered to. He said:
The travellers from the UK will spend tonight at Belvedere Teachers’ College. Police are there to ensure that noone will break the law of the Land.
Brezh Malaba, a Zimbabwean journalist, also posted an update saying:
The Ethiopian Airlines passengers have been served a meal comprising beef, cabbage & isitshwala. Harare City council has reconnected the water supply. They’ve agreed to sleep at Belvedere College tonight & the authorities promised to transfer them to the University of Zim.
The returnees had earlier refused to be quarantined at the institution citing the absence of water. They were reportedly demanding to be quarantined at local hotels.
