BCC Temporarily Closes Thorngrove Hospital For Renovations
Bulawayo City Council has announced that it is temporarily closing one of Bulawayo’s COVID-19 isolation centres Thorngrove Infectious Diseases Hospital for renovations, The Standard reports.
This was further confirmed by the Bulawayo City Council health services director Edwin Sibanda who said this to the publication:
As of April 22, the isolation ward at Thorngrove was closed for renovations to make sure that when it reopens in 14 days’ time, it will be ready to admit patients and treat those that are mild to moderate effectively unlike what we had previously.
FeedbackThe rest of the hospital is also going to receive a facelift thanks to donors as well as the central government, which has provided some funding for that.
The renovations were facilitated by the government which gave the council $10 Million to renovate the council-run hospital.
