Harare City Council To Construct Markets In All Suburbs
The Harare City Council is planning to construct markets in all suburbs in Harare to bring sanity to the informal sector, The Herald reports
This was revealed by Harare Mayor Councillor Herbert Gomba who said this to the publication:
Each area, district and location is going to have a market dedicated for its own people. The Mabvuku market is there already, we just want to expand it and accommodate more people.
FeedbackWe don’t want to politicise our markets, we want them to be run professionally. All employees who are allocating markets based on political affiliation are going to be removed from the markets division. It has to be done in a manner that is non-partisan.
The city also revealed that it will be constructing more markets in the CBD and in Mbare and Glenview 8 to accommodate more people.
