The Zimbabwean Embassy in South Africa says cross-border bus operator, Mzansi Express Bus Company has offered to transport Zimbabweans who are able to travel back home at their own expense.
In a statement on Saturday, the Embassy said negotiations with other transporters throughout South Africa are ongoing. The statement read:
Mzansi Express offers transport for self-funded repatriation from SA to Zimbabwe.
Negotiations with other operators throughout South Africa for similar services are ongoing. The information will be made available when necessary agreements are reached.
Earlier on Saturday, the Embassy said Eagle Liner/Intercity Express Bus Company has been engaged as one of the transport service providers tasked with the responsibility to transport Zimbabweans from Johannesburg/ Pretoria to quarantine centres in Beitbridge, Zimbabwe.
The Embassy further said the bus fare will be R600 per person. (Luggage will be charged separately and payable at pickup points on the day of departure).
