MDC MPs Planning To Abscond Parly Risk Expulsion - Ziyambi
Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi has said parly will not hesitate to take decisive action if MPs abscond parliament, The Herald reports. His remarks were a direct response to Job Sikhala who at a press conference yesterday said the MDC was withdrawing its MPs and senators after parly recalled 3 MPs and a senator under the instruction of Douglas Mwonzora.
Said Ziyambi:
As Parliament, we do not deal with political parties, but individual MPs when it comes to attendance of sittings and portfolio committee meetings. If a Member of Parliament fails to attend Parliament sittings and portfolio committee meetings the due process will be instituted.
FeedbackCharlton Hwende (Kuwadzana East), Prosper Mutseyami (Chikanga-Dangamvura), Tabitha Khumalo (Proportionate Representative) and Midlands Senator Lilian Timveous lost their seats in the parliament and in senate respectively after Douglas Mwonzra recalled them saying they were no longer representing the interests of the party.
