Govt To Name And Shame People Who Escape From Quarantine - Report

The government has said it will start to name people who escape from quarantine in a bid to stop returnees from escaping quarantine and putting other people’s lives at risk, 3 MOB reports.

This was said by the Minister Of Health and Child Care Obadiah Moyo as he was briefing the media in a post-cabinet briefing today. The decision to name and shame escapees came after close to 200 returnees escaped from quarantine facilities countrywide. Doctors on another note have said the living conditions in some of the quarantine and isolation centres is deplorable as they took the government to court in a bid to compel it to improve the conditions in question.

The government has urged citizens to report border jumpers who evade quarantine and people who escape from quarantine to try and curb the spread of COVID-19.
