ZRP Looking For A Man Who Escaped From Quarantine After Testing Positive For COVID-19
ZRP has launched a manhunt for 2 men who escaped from Belvedere Teachers’ College quarantine centre, one of the escapees escaped after he tested positive and the other one escaped before knowing his results, The Herald reports.
In a statement released by ZRP, ZRP appealed to the families and friends of the 2 men to come forward with information about the whereabouts of the escapees. ZRP National Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said;
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for information which may lead to the location of a 33-year-old man who escaped from Harare Polytechnic Isolation Centre on June 15, 2020, after testing positive for the Covid-19 virus and another 28-year-old man who also escaped on June 17, 2020, before getting results. Family members, friends and close associates of the two are implored to report so that the spread of Covid-19 by the two can be curtailed.
FeedbackThis has brought the number of people who have escaped from quarantine so far to 180. Meanwhile, ZRP has managed to arrest 28 escapees of the 180 people who have escaped from quarantine facilities countrywide.
