Masvingo To Get A Dry Port

Masvingo Province will get a Dry port after the government identified a place outside Masvingo and designated the area for a dry port, The Herald Reports.

Speaking after touring the area which is 10 km out of Zimbabwe’s oldest city Masvingo, Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube said:

We will soon start the process to acquire land around here, so that we can set up a dry port and this will speed up the growth of Masvingo City because before everyone knows it, the land around this place will be home to new modern houses and related infrastructure, which will feed into the growth of the city of Masvingo and the nation at large.

Meanwhile, the government is also planning to set another dry port in Rutnega to reduce congestion at Beitbridge border post.
