Mliswa Endorses 31 July Demo
Norton legislator Temba Mliswa has said he is in support and he endorses the planned 31 July protest and said he has been pushing for the same agenda in parliament.
Using the microblogging site Twitter, Mliswa said:
I’m also in support &endorse the anti-corruption March slated for #31stJuly. I have been pushing the same issues as a legislator in Parliament. Much of what I have done in Parliament is to represent people but they have largely remained passive, scared& reluctant to stand up
FeedbackI fear the same deficit in character will affect this anti-corruption march as people will not come out. The reasons are that their welfare is poor, they are hungry and busy with eking a living. You end up working alone as has been happening with me when I fight for the people.
I have been victimised&fought over issues that have nothing to do with me personally but the people I represent against the hazardous Chinese factory, Galloway stands saga etc, the victims themselves, largely remain on the fringes reluctant to stand up for themselves.
However, some Twimbos who commented on his Tweet said he was trying to change the protest’s agenda as it was not a protest for corruption but a start of a people power movement.
The Protest which is Transform Zimbabwe Jacob Ngarivhume’s brainchild has been endorsed by cleric Shingi Munyeza and former Zanu PF youth leader Godfrey Tsenengamu.
