British Airways Retires The Entire Boeing 747 Fleet

The travel downturn has forced British Airways to retire its entire Boeing 747 fleet, BBC reports. This was revealed by BA’s spokesperson who said all 31 planes were being retired with immediate effect:

It is with great sadness that we can confirm we are proposing to retire our entire 747 fleet with immediate effect.

It is unlikely our magnificent ‘queen of the skies’ will ever operate commercial services for British Airways again due to the downturn in travel caused by the Covid-19 global pandemic

British Airways was reportedly the biggest operator of 747-400s and it was planning on retiring them in 2024. Other airlines like Air China and Air France are still flying the gigantic 747s.
