ZBC Suspends Some Programmes After A Member Of Staff Tested Positive For COVID-19
The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has announced that it has suspended its programme – Good Morning Zimbabwe until its offices have been completely sanitised.
The programme was usually aired at 06:00 hours to provide local and international news headlines.
The suspension of the programme comes after it was announced on Wednesday that one of the broadcaster’s workers had tested positive for the coronavirus. Announcing the suspension of the programme, ZBC said:
ZBC would like to inform our viewers Good Morning Zimbabwe will be off air until our studios are completely sanitised. We apologise for any inconvenience.
The broadcaster joins a number of companies and or institutions that have so far suspended services over the coronavirus.
On Monday, the Parliament of Zimbabwe suspended business after its driver, journalist and two legislators tested positive for the coronavirus.
There has been a surge in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases lately with local cases growing at an alarming rate.
