Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta Speaks On Aubameyang's Future

Arsenal head coach, Mikel Arteta has insinuated that the Gunners’ skipper, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang wants to stay at the club he joined in 2018.

There have been reports suggesting that the Gabon international wanted to move from the club over the quality of players at Arsenal.

Reports coming from England suggest that the former Borussia Dortmund forward has been engaged in talks with the club which pledged to enhance the strength of the squad. Speaking after the FA Cup final, Arteta said:

I think he wants to stay and it is just about getting the deal done.

He is loved by everybody at the club. Hopefully he can continue with us.

Meanwhile, The Telegraph reports that Arsenal and Aubameyang are close to agreeing on a new three-year deal which would run until 2023 covering the final year of his current deal and extend it by a further two years.

The publication further reports that the club is drafting the final contract proposal for the 31-year-old to sign after positive talks during which verbal promises were made.

The new deal will see Aubameyang getting £250,000 a week and this includes significant bonuses.
