"I'll Decide When I Go, Not Other People," - Ozil Reminds That He Signed A 4-Year Deal

Arsenal playmaker, Mesut Ozil has said he is the only one who will decide when to leave the Gunners, and not anyone else.

The German international speaks amid reports that Arsenal intend to offload him to cut costs as the club’s revenues, like those of all others around the world, was affected by the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The former Real Madrid midfielder, with £350,000-a-week wage, is one of the players receiving huge salaries at the club. He said:

I didn’t sign for two or three years, I signed for four and that should be respected by everyone.

Things have obviously been difficult but I love Arsenal, I love to work there, I love the people in the club… the real people, those I’ve been with for a long time… and I love London, it’s my home.

The World Cup winner added that despite everything that transpired in the last two seasons, he is happy and very strong mentally adding that he knows his capabilities on the pitch.

His contract runs until 2021. It is believed that his refusal to take a 12.5 percent salary cut during the coronavirus pandemic heightened tensions with the club.
