France’s Olympique Lyon this afternoon before their game against Man City paid tribute to one of their player’s brother Prince Kadewere who passed on on Wednesday after complaining of chest pains, New Zimbabwe reports.
Lyon players reportedly warmed up for tonight’s game wearing T-shirts in honour of Tino’s brother. The gesture was confirmed by the club on their website Lyon Sports Actu in a statement that said:
Last Wednesday, Prince, Tino Kadewere’s brother, passed away, and that is why we are going to warm up with a shirt in his honour. Prince Kadewere, who died last Wednesday, was 40 years old. During the warm-up before the clash against Manchester City, all players will wear a T-shirt in honour of the brother of the Zimbabwean striker. A great initiative that will certainly affect the new Lyon player.
Prince was buried today at the family’s rural home in Zvimba and Tino was able to attend after he was granted a special permit to attend the funeral by the Health Ministry.
