"Don't Be Deceived By Mock Expulsion Of Ministers," Bhebhe On Mnangagwa's Anti-Corruption Crusade
Opposition MDC-T chairperson Abednico Bhebhe has said President Mnangagwa’s anti-corruption campaign is designed to hoodwink the public into believing that the government is committed to fighting graft in the country.
He made the remarks during a w-de-ranging interview with Daily News on Sunday Staff Writer Jeffrey Muvundusi amid reports of deepening governance and human rights crisis. Below are the excerpts.
Muvundusi: Let’s talk of corruption. Already we have two ministers who have been fired on accusations of corruption, do you see the bug of graft under Mnangagwa coming to an end?
FeedbackBhebhe: It is foolish to think that the bug of corruption will end with the mock expulsion of two ministers and equally naive to differentiate between Mugabe and Mnangagwa rule.
We all know that Zanu PF is the author of corruption and there’s nothing that can change with the firing of those two ministers and there is nothing that anyone in Zanu PF can change.
Those who believe Mnangagwa could be any better need to have their brains checked.
Mnangagwa has so far dismissed Tourism and Health ministers, Priscah Mupfumira and Obadiah Moyo respectively after it had been alleged that they had engaged in underhand dealings.
