The Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe(BAZ) has published the following list of shortlisted applicants for Free To Air Commercial Television Licenses. According to Mduduzi Mathuthu, Rusununguko Media which he claims belongs to the Army has already made it: Mathuthu tweeted:
Zimbabwe wants to licence 6 commercial TV stations. 14 applicants have been shortlisted. I know one has already made it: Rusununguko Media. It’s owned by the army. Well, make that two, and Zimpapers of course

Shortlisting of Applicants for Free-to-Air National Commercial Television Broadcasting Services
The Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) wishes to announce that 14 applicants for Free-to-Air National Cornmercial Television Broadcasting Services have been shortlisted for a Public Hearing to be convened by the Authority’s Board. The shortlisted applicants are:

- Acacia Media Group (Pvt) Ltd
- Black Berry Zimbabwe
- Channel Dzimbahwe TV (Pvt) Ltd
- Conduit Investments (Pvt) Ltd
- Continental TV (Pvt) Ltd
- Fairtalk Communications
- Heart and Soul
- Jester Media Services
- Just in Time TV (11T IV Station)
- Medianet Productions
- Meditation Investment (Pvt) Ltd
- Rusununguko Media (Pvt) Ltd
- Zirnpapers Newspapers (1980) Ltd
The above list. applicants will undergo a public inquiry process to determine their suitability to be licensed. The Authority shall publish dates for the Public Hearing in line with Section 40A of the Broadcasting Services Act (Chapter 12:061.
