Khama Scores When It Matters The Most
Warriors Player and Kaizer Chiefs Midfielder Khama Billiat’s single goal yesterday had a double impact as it first silenced the critics baying for the footballer’s blood and secondly took his club a step closer to winning the ABSA premiership title for the first time in 5 years.
Speaking after yesterday’s game that put Kaizer Chiefs at par in terms of points with Mamelodi Sundowns, but 4 goals ahead of Sundowns, Amakhosi manager Ernst Middendorp said:
It’s about points now, it’s about winning now, but I’m happy with the team’s fighting spirit that we needed to show today and will need on Saturday too.
FeedbackZTN’s Makomborero Mutimukulu tweeted and said:
It’s not the most beautiful of goals. However, the manner in which we badly needed this one, in the face of vicious attacks on Billiat and, by extension, our integrity as Zimbabweans, this goal is fabulous.
The biggest statement, for me, was the chilled celebration. Many a player would have used that moment to send a message to critics, perhaps cup an ear or place a finger on the lips, but Khama Billiat was classy.
Kaizer Chiefs will be crown league title winners if on Saturday they either beat Baroka and or Sundowns do not better their winning margin by, at least, four goals when they take on Black Leopards
