President Mnangagwa's Aide In Farm Invasion Storm

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s security aide Alfred Chagonda on Tuesday appeared before Chivhu Magistrates’ Court over farm invasion.

Chagonda pleaded guilty to the charges and magistrate Mitchell Panavanhu ordered him to vacate the farm by December 10, 2020, and also to pay a $2000 fine.

Alternatively, Mnangagwa’s aide will have to spend five months in prison if he fails to pay the fine before October 9, 2020.

It was the state’s case that sometime in 2018, Chagonda, invaded Rushfontain Farm in Chivhu which belongs to Bernard Makokove, the former Zanu PF Mashonaland East chairperson.

Prosecutor Kumbirai Charamba added that the accused then embarked on cattle farming without authority from the Lands ministry.
