Prince Dube Not Joining The Warriors In The Friendly Match Against Malawi
Warriors player and former Highlanders striker Prince Dube will miss out on the Warriors’ friendly match against Malawi because of a hamstring injury, The Sunday News reports.
The Tanzanian based striker reportedly suffered an injury on Sunday and his team doctor ordered him to rest for a week before resuming light training.
In a letter sent by Azam’s medical doctor to ZIFA, Prince Dube’s team doctor said:
Please refer to the above mentioned who is our player, sustained injury of left hamstring muscle (posterior aspect of left thigh) in a league match. He is on medication, Tens and he had been given one week rest then resume small exercises and physiotherapy. So I here recommend not to join your team on medical grounds.
Dube joined Tanzania’s Azam FC in August and he made a great start at the Tanzania top-flight league team by scoring in most matches he has played so far. Azam is so mesmerized with Prince Dube, they presented him with a special T-Shirt appreciating his contribution to the team a few weeks after he became part of the team.
Meanwhile, the government is yet to OK the Warriors’ match against Malawi’s Flames slated to be played at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre in preparation for the AFCON qualifiers against Algeria to be played next month.
