ZRP Arrests Mhangura Couple For Murdering Their Toddler
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed that they arrested a Mhangura Couple for murdering their toddler and burying her body along the Hunyani River bank, The Herald.
ZRP National Spokesperson spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the development and said they arrested 32-year-old Norest Masvova and his twenty-four-year-old wife Elizabeth Dinhidza for killing their toddler and concealing their crime:
Investigations have been instituted on a couple who went for gold panning along the Hunyani River with their two-year-old daughter on August 30.
FeedbackThey were arrested on October 13 after a domestic dispute where the woman revealed the murder of the child due to a beating.
According to the publication, the Mhangura couple went panning with their toddler and she soiled herself and her father Masvova assaulted her which led to her death:
Norest Masvova (32) and his wife Elizabeth Dinhidza (24) were allegedly panning for gold along Hunyani River together with their two-year-old daughter when the incident happened.
The toddler reportedly soiled herself and Masvova assaulted her all over the body leading to her death. The couple allegedly went on to secretly bury the child on the river bank.
The girl’s remains have since been exhumed after the matter came to light during a domestic dispute.
Meanwhile, the country is still coming to terms with the ritual murder of Tapiwa Makore who was murdered by his namesake Tapiwa Makore and a local herdman Tafadzwa Shamba.
In another incident, a stepfather from Zvimba murdered his child after he came home drunk and accused them of asking for food from the neighbors.
