Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr John Mangwiro, officially opened the Mandara Manor Wellness Centre recently, a Private Psychiatric and Rehabilitation Hospital nestled in the leafy suburb of Mandara.
Dr Mangwiro expressed his gratitude in officiating at the opening of the state of the art facility which offers a wide variety of services. He said:
… The new Wellness Centre, is a state-of-the-art facility and the first of its kind in the country, offering, inpatient and outpatient mental health promotion and treatment facilities, an eleven-bed hospital admission facility and holistic treatment packages incorporating Specialist Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, various indoor and outdoor activities, and relaxation facilities.
The Deputy Minister of Health pointed out that opening such facilities in the country will drastically cut travelling costs of seeking medical attention abroad.
Highlands Wellness Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr Sacrifice Chirisa said they managed to construct three psychiatric hospitals in five years and that they were ready to serve both local and foreign clients.
He paid tribute to his wife, Dorcas Chirisa whom he described as a pillar in his business journey. Said Dr Chirisa:
I take this opportunity to thank a number of people who have made this possible. One thing why we want to make this thing special is that a few months ago I was bedridden with COVID-19.
Mandara Manor Wellness Centre is a member of the Highlands Wellness Group which includes Highlands Halfway House, Borrowdale Halfway Home.
