Ginimbi's Body Ignites War Between Two Funeral Parlours
The body of the late Zimbabwean socialite, Genius Ginimbi Kadungure was Friday taken from Nyaradzo Life Assurance to Doves Funerals parlour amid reports the decision was influenced by some political elites.
Nyaradzo Life Assurance was the first to manage the socialite’s body after being approached by the family but the body had to be moved to Doves creating a misunderstanding between the two funeral service providers.
Nyaradzo marketing officer Grace Chimedza yesterday said they just respected the decision by Ginimbi’s family to have his body moved to Doves.
Sources who spoke to NewsDay suggested that Ginimbi’s close associates, who are linked to the ruling Zanu PF party, influenced the deceased’s family to dump Nyaradzo for Doves. Said a source:
These are the same guys who had proposed the all-white party farewell, which was shot down by the family. They, however, managed to convince the family to move the body from Nyaradzo to Doves hoping that they would be able to get some favours they wanted from the authorities, who are said to behind this funeral service company.
Meanwhile, a family source told NewsDay Weekender that Ginimbi’s family had approached Nyaradzo first, but they later discovered that he had a policy with Doves South Africa prompting them to collect the body from Nyaradzo to Doves to handle everything.
Ginimbi’s burial is underway at his Domboshava mansion.
