Tino Kadewere Slays Paris Saint-Germain
Zimbabwean striker Tino Kadewere was on target as Lyon beat PSG 1-0 at Parc des Princes on Sunday night.
The 24-year-old forward scored the only goal of the match after he linked up with Cameroon’s Karl Toko Ekambi in the 35th minute.
The win took Lyon to second on the league table, level on 29 points with leaders Lille after 14 matches.
Speaking after the match, Kadewere said it was possible to win the title but his dream was to finish the season in the Champions League places. He said:
It was a great night for the team, we did play well together. I am happy to have given the victory to my team. We worked a lot this week to achieve this success.
The title? To be honest, I want us to qualify for the Champions League. It would be a dream.
If we continue like this, working very hard, we have our chances of finishing first. It would be difficult. We never know.
According to OptaJean, Kadewere’s fifth goal made Lyon the only team to have three players score five or more goals in Europe’s top five leagues this season, after Toko Ekambi (seven goals) and Memphis Depay (six goals).
