The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) annual general meeting slated for Saturday 19 December 2020 currently hangs in the balance as there are talks of the football body’s plans to postpone the meeting, again, the Chronicle reports.
A source within ZIFA told the publication that:
Chances of the annual general meeting taking place are now slim, indications are that it will be postponed. The executive has also hinted towards the postponement but no reasons have been proffered so far although our suspicions are on the manner in which this meeting (December 19) was announced, remember the notice was given by the communications and competitions manager Xolisani Gwesela instead of the chief executive officer Joseph Mamutse.
According to the source ZIFA reportedly discovered they will likely be exposing themselves to legal challenges if they proceed with the meeting which was initially postponed from 16 May to 19 December.
When contacted for comment ZIFA Spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela said he is not aware of the decision to postpone the meeting.
