'Business Almost As Usual' As Level 4 Lockdown Starts
It was almost business as usual in some residential areas in Harare on the first day of the Level 4 lockdown, as people could be seen wandering along streets.
A survey conducted by The Herald on Tuesday morning revealed that at Warren Park 1 shops, large numbers of people could be seen roaming around the shopping centre.
Some people even had the audacity to drink beer in public though they kept one eye on the road just in case security services came.
High numbers of people were also observed at Mbudzi Roundabout on the Harare-Masvingo highway.
Meanwhile, in central Harare, there were fewer people compared to the previous days and most businesses were shut.
There were police roadblocks on major roads leading into the city centre and at most of them, it took up to an hour to pass.
Worryingly, reports suggest that some Ordinary Level pupils could have been delayed to arrive for their examinations due to the congestion at checkpoints.
