Zimbabwe Records 1 017 COVID-19 Cases, 38 Deaths In 24 Hours
Zimbabwe has recorded 1 017 coronavirus cases and 38 deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, data from the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) shows.
All the 1 017 cases are local transmissions and Harare alone recorded 419 cases and 20 deaths, making it the epicentre of the respiratory disease.
A total 3 507 polymerise chain reaction (PCR) tests were conducted across all provinces, with 2 486 of the tests done in Harare province alone.
Manicaland recorded 126 coronavirus cases from only 247 tests while Bulawayo returned 62 new cases from 315 tests done yesterday.
Manicaland recorded 8 deaths, Bulawayo, 5, Masvingo, 3, Mashonaland Central and Midlands recorded 1 death each, with Mash East, Mash West, Mat North and Mat South recording zero deaths.
Zimbabwe has now recorded 24 256 cumulative cases, 13 658 recoveries and 589 deaths as at 13 January 2021.
