Blessing Muzarabani has expressed his appreciation after winning the ESPNcricinfo Awards’ best ODI bowling performance of 2020.
The 24-year-old bowler told ZTN News that he is hungry for more and the gong has given him confidence. He said:
I am happy, I really appreciate it. It’s something that gives you confidence as a youngster, it pushes you.
I am looking forward to the next game. I want to keep doing big things for my country.
I just don’t want one good performance, I am hungry for more and I will put in the work.
Muzarabani got the honours in results published on 21 January for his match-winning 5 for 49 that led Zimbabwe to a super over win against Pakistan.
It was his first ODI series in two years after he quit international cricket to pursue a county career with Northamptonshire in 2018. He said:
It wasn’t easy switching from county to international cricket and I didn’t do really well in the first two games.
I had to go back and adjust and I am happy I bowled well in the third match
