The Medical and Dental Private Practitioners of Zimbabwe Association (MDPPZA) have released the following statement raising concern over remarks made by the Infomation Ministry Permanent secretary Nick Mangwana that there are medical assassins targeting political players.
MDPPZA said people should refrain from inflammatory talks because they have the potential to demoralize the frontline workers who are working to contain the virus:
Press Statement COVID-I9 AND MEDICAL PRACTICE 24 January 2021
The Methcal and Dental Private Practitioners association of Zimbabwe notes with concem that there are social media rants which seem to point out that there are numerous doctors that may be involved in the deaths of some individuals.
The accusations are quite unfortunate and worrisome at this juncture when every health worker has tightened their belt in the midst of the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic. Covid-19 infection can be a very serious infection if there is delayed medical attention, complications like severe pneumonia, lung necrosis, thrombo-embolism, renal failure and heart attac. can arise. The whole world is quivering because of the deadly virus.
We therefore call upon everyone to refrain from inflammatory talk that has potential to demoralize the resilient frontliners who are obviously working very hard to contain and mitigate against the virus.
Zththabwe has some of the best doctors in the world and our efforts together will surely yield results. We continue requesting your prayers as we navigate through the muddy waters.
Thank youMDPPZA information desk
