The late former prisons boss Paradzayi Zimondi and the late Minister of Transport Joel Biggie Matiza who succumbed to COVID-19 on Friday have been declared national heroes, ZBC News reports.
The development was reportedly communicated by Defense Minister Oppah Muchinguri who told the deceased’s families that the 2 have been conferred with a hero status according to ZBC which stated that:
The late transport minister, Cde JB Matiza and former prisons boss Major General Paradzai Zimondi declared national heroes. Defence Minister and @ZANUPF_Officialnational chair Cde Oppah Muchinguri delivered the declarations to the families.
Matiza, Zimondi, and former Education Minister Aeneas Chigwedere succumbed to COVID-19 2 days after Foreign Affairs Minister Sibusiso Moyo succumbed to the virus too.
