First Batch Of The COVID-19 Vaccine To Come On 15 February - Govt
Zimbabwe has secured 600 000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in addition to the 200 000 doses that were donated by the Asian country bringing the total number of doses secured by Zimbabwe to 800 000 ZTN reports.
This was reportedly revealed by the Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Service Minister Monica Mutsvangwa who said the 600 000 doses would reach Zimbabwe by the first week of March 2021 while the donated 200 000 will be in Zimbabwe next week on Monday 15 February 2021.
Zimbabwe according to the Finance Minister is planning to vaccinate 10 million people to reach herd or population immunity. This comes amid reports that South Africa which took delivery of 1 million doses that will expire soon has turned to China to secure the vaccine too.
