President of the Chief’s council Chief Fortune Charumbira is now the acting Pan African Parliament (PAP) President, TellZim reports. Chief Charumbira will assume responsibilities till the next PAP session that will reconstitute a full Bureau.
According to TellZim:
Chief Charumbira has been designated as Acting President for the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) with effect from March 1 2021. He will assume responsibilities of the office of the President until the next plenary session of PAP, when a full Bureau is expected to be reconstituted.
Hon. Charumbira takes over from Hon. Bouras Djamel, whose term as member of the National Peoples’ Assembly of Algeria has come to an end following an announcement, last month, by His Excellency Abdelmajid Tebboune, President of Algeria to dissolve the Lower House of Parliament and call for an early legislative election.
In 2018 Chief Charumbira was elected the PAP Vice President after he lost the PAP Presidential election. Meanwhile back at home last weekend as he was attending the funeral wake of the late Chief Nyamukoho urged the family of the late Chief Nyamukoho to be united and sit down and resolve their issues.
