President Emmerson Mnangagwa has granted a State assisted funeral for the late former Studio 263 actor Anne Nhire who died in South Africa on Wednesday last week.
Responding to a letter from the Permanent Secretary for Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, Thokozile Chitepo, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Misheck Sibanda wrote:
Please be advised that His Excellency the President has approved State assisted funeral to the late Anne ‘Vimbai’ Nhire. You may proceed with the necessary arrangements.
Nhira died two days after she was assaulted by robbers on Monday at a prayer mountain in South Africa’s Belview Suburb.
Her brother, Juan, said his sister was attacked by robbers and sustained injuries on the chest, stomach and rib cage.
Juan said Anne was then rushed to hospital where she succumbed to the injuries on Wednesday.
