ZRP Arrest 9 MDC Alliance Members For Holding A Meeting In Chivi On 11 March

ZRP yesterday reportedly arrested 9 MDC Alliance members in Chivi  and said they violated a section of the  37 of Criminal Code on 11 March when they held a meeting. This was revealed by ZLHR which in a statement said:

Our lawyer on the ground has confirmed the arrest follows a meeting held earlier this month attended by several MDC A supportere where offence is alleged to have occurred. Only 9 have been arrested & not 30 people. They are charged with contravening sec 37 of Criminal Code.

The lawyers did not give further details of the actual crime they are accused of committing. We will update this article if new details reports.

Last month, ZRP arrest 12 MDC Alliance members at gun point who were organising the funeral of the one of the province’s activist before they were freed on bail a few days later.
