Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi has hailed Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) and former Warriors goalkeeper Washington Arubi as one of the best goalkeepers in South Africa.
Arubi made several vital saves during normal and extra time as well as saving a penalty during a Nedbank Cup semi-final clash against the Premiership champions.
TTM proceeded to the Nedbank Cup finals at the expense of Mamelodi Sundowns after winning 6-5 on penalties. The match had ended 0-0 after 120 minutes.
Speaking on the 35-year-old Zimbabwean’s performance to SuperSport TV after the game, Mngqithi said:
I’ve always like Arubi. I’ve always believed he’s a very good goalkeeper. And today he really showed his quality.
And I am sure there are many other teams looking at him differently because he’s always been a good goalkeeper.
I was wondering why he had to slump down to NFD because he has always been one of the best goalkeepers in the country.
