A man from Harare’s Crowhill suburb, Austin Nyabanga was admitted to Parirenyatwa Hospital after he was stabbed during an altercation over a dog fight.
The alleged aggressor, Kembo Chatyora has since appeared before a Harare Magistrates Court facing assault charges.
Prosecutor Lance Mutsokoti told the court that the two met at a shebeen in Crowhill and their dogs barked at each other.
The state also alleged that Chatyora picked a brick and hit Nyabanga’s dog prompting Nyabanga to confront him.
An altercation then ensued during which Chatyora is reported to have produced a screwdriver and stabbed the Nyabanga, who sustained a deep cut.
Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi remanded Chatyora in custody to this Thursday.
